4th of July FIREWORKS

Join us for the annual fireworks display behind Van Alstyne High School located at 1722 N Waco St. approximately 30 minutes after dark on Tuesday, July 4, 2017.

Kona Ice will be on site selling refreshments. Non-alcoholic refreshments are welcome.  Please be prepared to take trash with you as the City and ISD are not providing receptacles. Restroom facilities will not be open for use. We appreciate the ISD allowing us to use their venue.  Let’s keep it clean!

Notice of Public Hearings on Annexation

The City Council of the City of Van Alstyne, Texas, will hold two (2) public hearings on June 27, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. and on June 27, 2017, at 6:35 p.m. at the Van Alstyne Community Center, 262 N. Preston Ave, Van Alstyne, Texas, giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on one (1) proposed voluntary annexation by the City of Van Alstyne, Texas.  Maps and full legal descriptions are available at Van Alstyne City Hall.

The City of Van Alstyne, Texas, proposes to institute annexation proceedings to enlarge and extend the boundary limits of said city to include the following separate territories:

16.27 acre tract being part of the James McKinney Survey, Abstract No. 770, Grayson County, Texas and being a part of Greywood Heights, an addition to Grayson County, Texas, as recorded in Volume 7, Page 87, Plat Records, Grayson County, Texas, and being a part of the tract of land described in a deed to KERATEX , L.P. 11s recorded in County Clerk File Number 2010-21778,  Real Property Records, Grayson County , Texas.

2016 Drinking Water Quality Report

The Public Works Department has issued the 2016 Drinking Water Quality Report also referred to as the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR).  The report is including as an insert with the June 2017 utility bills along with Mayor Cooper’s monthly newsletter.  A public hearing will be held at the June 13th City Council meeting for those with questions or comments about the report.  To view the 2016 Drinking Water Quality Report please visit the designated page on this site!
