The City of Van Alstyne, located on the southern border of Grayson County, Texas, was founded in 1873 when the railroads began their rapid expansion and formation of new settlements into the rich blacklands of North Texas.

The US-75 corridor north of Dallas is one of Texas’ fastest-growing regions, and Van Alstyne’s boundaries include land east and west of the US-75, between McKinney and Sherman.
