Seeking Interim City Manager

Position Summary

The City of Van Alstyne (approximate population 3,046) is seeking an interim City Manager to provide exceptional customer service and experienced, positive leadership for a temporary, part-time, contract-labor assignment while a search for a new city manager is conducted. Van Alstyne is located near the fast-growing Highway 75 and Highway 5 corridors, just 45 miles North of Dallas. Under the direction of the Mayor and five-member council, this position will administer Van Alstyne’ s annual budget of $7.5M and its 42 employees.

Requirements

This position requires relevant job experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in government, political science, business administration or a related field, and a valid Class C driver’s license.

Preference will be given to applicants with at least five years of upper management experience in local government, including service as a city manager or city administrator in an organization of comparable size or larger and/or applicants holding a Master’s Degree in public or business administration or a related field.

The compensation is negotiable depending upon the background and qualifications.
