A citizen reported the leak to the Public Works Dept after 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Emergency locates were requested and repairs began at approximately 3:30pm. An old repair began to fail and once uncovered, a 90 degree fitting blew off and created a substantial water loss. A boil order was issued as required by the TCEQ due to water pressure dropping below 20 psi. The leak was repaired and services restored by approximately 8:00pm. Water samples have been collected and are being tested to insure it is safe to consume. Results are expected by 8:00am on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Thank you to our friends and neighbors with the City of Whitewright and the City of Howe Public Works for lending a hand in repairs.
