City Manager, Lane H. Jones
Since assuming the position on March 1, 2018, Mr. Jones has been at the helm of the city's operations, focusing on organizational development, budget management, and fiscal policy. His primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for all residents of Van Alstyne, reflecting a deep commitment to community welfare and growth.
Before stepping into his role as City Manager of Van Alstyne, Lane Jones held significant positions that shaped his career trajectory. He serves as a City Manager in Oklahoma, where he demonstrated his commitment to municipal governance by earning his Certified Municipal Official (CMO) certification from the Oklahoma Municipal League.
Prior to his tenure in city management, Mr. Jones contributed to the United States Marine Corps as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Marine Corps Community Services at MCB Camp Pendleton, California. In this capacity, he oversaw business operations and distinguished himself as a strong leader, earning two "Business Operations of the Year" awards. His exemplary service culminated in a Commendation for Meritorious Civilian Service from the Department of the Navy upon the completion of his twenty-two-year career.
Alongside his professional achievement, Lane H. Jones enjoys a fulfilling personal life with his wife, Wendy. Together, they are parents to eleven children and eagerly anticipate the arrival of their eighteenth grandchild, highlighting the importance of family and community in his life.
