About the EDC/CDC

Our Mission

The Van Alstyne Community and Economic Development Corporations (VA CEDC) is responsible for community and economic development in the Van Alstyne area with the following objectives:

Create or retain job opportunities
Recruit or retain manufacturers and industries

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month - unless otherwise indicated on the agenda. The CDC meets first at 6:00 PM, and the EDC meets immediately following.

The Van Alstyne Economic Development Action Agenda, prepared by DADCO Consulting Services, Inc., is a comprehensive strategy aimed at guiding Van Alstyne through sustainable and purposeful growth. Commissioned by the Van Alstyne Community Development Corporation (CDC), this report identifies key community values, analyzes economic opportunities and challenges, and presents actionable recommendations across critical areas such as infrastructure, workforce development, downtown revitalization, and housing. Leveraging community input, targeted industry analysis, and strategic planning, this report outlines a pathway for Van Alstyne to achieve its vision of growth while preserving its unique character and enhancing quality of life for residents and businesses.
