Services & Programs
Adults:
We offer a variety of adult programs throughout the year. Watch our calendar and Facebook page for upcoming events.
Adult Computer Classes: Learn how to use Internet, Facebook, e-mail and more. Over several weeks of one-hour classes held at the Library when it is closed, you will gain new skills that will enable you to stay in touch with friends and family and find safe and trusted information online. Call the Library at (903) 482-5991 for more information.
Children:
Children’s programming has been reinvented to provide a safe setting for an engaging and fun learning experience.
Beginning this Fall, we introduce a hybrid of virtual and in-person storytimes. Virtual programs will take place on the Library’s Facebook page and can be viewed live or any time after the event has aired.
- On Wednesdays, join us for Storytime — Preschool at 10:30 AM and Spanish-language at 4:00 PM.
Here are the events planned, but for information on materials pickup or possible schedule changes due to weather, watch our Facebook for details or give us a call!
- Watch our calendar for events such as game days, storytime, arts and science events, and more.
Attention all birthday boys and girls!
If you are age 2-12 and it is one week from your birthday, either one week before or one week after, let us know. The VAPL has a birthday gift and name tag just for you!

About our mural:
This one in a million mural was created by local artist Sydney Sbarbarro. This mural was inspired by its “big sister” found in the Denison Public Library. Miss Sbarbarro’s work can be viewed not only in the Denison Public Library but the Denison Fire Department, as well.
Fun fact: the book titles depicted in the mural were drawn directly from the actual books on the shelves surrounding it.
Technology:
We have free wi-fi and a computer lab with high-speed internet access! Cardholders and visitors with guest passes may use our internet-accessible PCs free of charge. Wi-Fi service is also available on an unsecured network. Cardholders under 18 must have a permission form signed by their legal guardian to use the computers.
Need to take care of documents but don’t have the equipment at home?

- Visitors may print, copy, or fax for a nominal charge.
- Using the PrinterOn mobile printing service, you can print from home or from an app.
