Van Alstyne is proud to host a weekly farmers’ market.  The Railcar Farmers Market of Van Alstyne was established in 2018, SWell Markets & Events, LLC assumed it in 2021. The market takes place at the Central Social District in Downtown Van Alstyne every Tuesday, from 3-7pm, April through September. In addition to the weekly farmers market, the Railcar CRAFTERS Market takes place the third Tuesday of each month. Not only will you find local artisans, but Youth Entrepreneurs are invited to host booths and sell goods as well. In addition to these reoccurring events, follow the Railcar Farmers Market Facebook page to get alerts about their special Autumn market & Christmas market as well.

The Railcar Farmers Market is a GO TEXAN affiliate & a Certified FarmersMarket by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The market provides opportunities for local ranchers, farmers, producers, growers, canners, bakers & makers to sell their goods.

At the Railcar Farmers Market, owner Ashley Higdem says her hope is to provide an accessible space that is person, child, & pet friendly. Locally grown produce, pasture raised beef, chicken, pork & eggs, honey, bread, pickles, jam, elderberry, plants, gluten-free baked goods, ice cream, tamales,  treats, self-care and so much more!
Enjoy the perks of the Social District’s splash pad & playground while grabbing dinner at the food truck & shopping these loyal small businesses every Tuesday. We encourage making the Railcar Farmers Market a weekly tradition for your family and friends.
