Chamber’s Music in the Park MOVED

The Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce welcomes the Big Gus Samuelson Trio for their final Music in the Park of 2017.  The event, including magician John Allen, begins at 6:00pm and will be moved to the Whistlestop Café at 166 N Main St. while construction on the gazebo at Dorothy Fielder Park continues.

Collin County Citizen Prosecutor Academy

Collin County Criminal District Attorney Greg Willis has announced dates for the Citizen Prosecutor Academy’s 2017 Fall Session!

This free, 10-week course begins September 7th and meets on Thursday evenings at the Collin County Courthouse from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Van Alstyne Ranks Among Communities with the Best Credit Scores

LendEDU just released a report that recognized the 250 communities in all of the Southwest with the best average credit scores, and Van Alstyne made the list!

Congratulations to you on the recognition! Out of the thousands of towns in the Southwest, Van Alstyne has one of the highest average credit scores, thus some of the most fiscally secure and responsible citizens.

Using Experian’s licensed dataset, LendEDU was able to analyze the average credit score of each town and city in the Southwest.

Van Alstyne came in at #116!

4th of July FIREWORKS

Join us for the annual fireworks display behind Van Alstyne High School located at 1722 N Waco St. approximately 30 minutes after dark on Tuesday, July 4, 2017.

Kona Ice will be on site selling refreshments. Non-alcoholic refreshments are welcome.  Please be prepared to take trash with you as the City and ISD are not providing receptacles. Restroom facilities will not be open for use. We appreciate the ISD allowing us to use their venue.  Let’s keep it clean!
