Notice of Public Hearing: Shared Use Path, Phase II
TXDOT has made a call for projects for the 2017 Transportation Set-Aside program that is used to fund alternative transportation projects for non-vehicular traffic. This program provides an 80-20 (federal/state- city) match for projects identified through the selection process.
The City of Van Alstyne submitted a request for funding in May 2017 and has successfully made it through the first few rounds of project selection. The city is proposing that Phase 2 of the Shared Use Path serve the new Bob and Lola Sanford Elementary School. The project includes approximately 1, 370 linear feet of 12’-wide concrete path from SH 5 (Waco St.) along the proposed roadway serving the elementary school that also includes a pedestrian activated crossing in front of the school.
The City of Van Alstyne City Council will conduct a Public Hearing at a special called meeting on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 6:30pm at the Van Alstyne Community Center located at 262 N Preston Ave to hear your comments for or against the proposed path.

NOTICE
The City Council of the City of Van Alstyne, Texas, will conduct a public hearing on August 29, 2017 at 6:30 P.M., at the Van Alstyne Community Center, 262 N Preston Ave, Van Alstyne, Texas, for the discussion of the proposed fiscal year 2017 – 2018 budget for the City of Van Alstyne, Texas.
This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by -$3,280 or -0.23%, and of that amount, $50,379 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.

The Van Alstyne Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at the Van Alstyne Community Center located at 262 N Preston Ave on July 20, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. and the Van Alstyne City Council will hold a Public Hearing at the Van Alstyne Community Center located at 262 N Preston Ave on August 1, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. to consider a request by the owner/agent of the property being described as OTP VAN ALSTYNE ADDN, BLOCK 26, LOT11 & 12 more commonly known as 120 East Marshall Drive (formerly known as 101 East Marshall Drive) to change the zoning from a Central Business District (CBD) zoning to Planned Development (PD) with a base zoning of CBD with special events center with overnight guests, entire home rental to guests with no special event as allowed additional uses. Also, a waiver to any fire code requirement, such as installation of a fire sprinkler system, to maintain the current historical integrity.

Notice of Public Hearings on Annexation
The City Council of the City of Van Alstyne, Texas, will hold two (2) public hearings on June 27, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. and on June 27, 2017, at 6:35 p.m. at the Van Alstyne Community Center, 262 N. Preston Ave, Van Alstyne, Texas, giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on one (1) proposed voluntary annexation by the City of Van Alstyne, Texas. The City of Van Alstyne, Texas, proposes to institute annexation proceedings to enlarge and extend the boundary limits of said city to include the following separate territories:
16.27 acre tract being part of the James McKinney Survey, Abstract No. 770, Grayson County, Texas and being a part of Greywood Heights, an addition to Grayson County, Texas, as recorded in Volume 7, Page 87, Plat Records, Grayson County, Texas, and being a part of the tract of land described in a deed to KERATEX , L.P. 11s recorded in County Clerk File Number 2010-21778, Real Property Records, Grayson County , Texas.
