Not sure how to sign up via text? It’s easy, and it works on basic cell phones. Here are more details about how to sign up by text.
This service is free to anyone who wants to be informed, but message and data rates may apply.
All Alerts will be targeted geographically, allowing residents to receive localized, relevant alerts from the City of Van Alstyne. One of our City website pages directs users to an external website where customers can pay their water bills using a credit card. The payment processor’s website has a “log out” button, and this logout button linked to the city’s old website address — not to cityofvanalstyne.us, but to an address that the city used years ago. The City has not been in possession of this address / domain name for several years and in the meantime, someone else acquired it and placed a page with objectionable links on it.
Our payment processing vendor has now corrected the link. The City of Van Alstyne’s official website was not compromised. We thank you for bringing this to our attention.
